Introduction

I am a junior Neuroscience major on the pre-med track. While at UD, I want to embrace all the opportunities the university has to offer, and not just the ones that are specific to my career path. This mentality has taken me on an exciting journey, ranging across varsity cheerleading, international student mentoring, philosophy research, teaching assistant positions, and ultimately research in the Griffin Lab. Initially, I joined this lab because I saw it as an opportunity to delve into a completely different learning environment, where I can explore a brand new topic in great depth. What I did not realize at the time was the tremendous value this experience can add to my undergraduate education. Working here has really allowed me to understand what it means to be a researcher, and getting to connect with other highly motivated and supportive lab members has been truly inspiring. Above all, being a part of the Griffin Lab has given me a sense of confidence that I too can one day become an effective participant in scientific advancement.
