Introduction

In 2009 I received a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology with a concentration in Biopsychology from Millersville University of Pennsylvania. My research interests are based on examining how firing characteristics are modified in hippocampal place cells with behavior and environmental context in freely moving rats. I am also interested in investigating how the hippocampus interacts with the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) in order to better discern how these two discrete regions function together as part of a broader neural network underlying learning and memory.

Project Description

I am currently involved in a project designed to explore differences in hippocampal place coding as a rat switches from a continuous alternation task strategy to a tactile-visual conditional discrimination task strategy within the same environment.
